Julie Domagalski, L.Ac.

Julie Domagalski is a nationally Board Certified (NCCAOM), licensed acupuncturist
and Chinese herbalist who has been in private practice in Northern Illinois since 2009. After working in the pharmaceutical
/ biotechnology industries for 15 years, both as a research scientist and as a consultant, Julie discovered the benefits of
acupuncture and East Asian medicine (EAM) firsthand while recovering from surgery for a torn Achilles tendon. Fascinated by
how quickly she was able to get back on her feet, pain-free, she plunged into learning as much as she could about the underlying
philosophy of traditional East Asian medicine, while continuing treatment for other chronic ailments.
Impressed with EAM's central idea of treating the patient, not the disease, and its power to help unravel complex,
chronic medical conditions (called "knotty diseases" in EAM), she chose to undergo a mid-life career shift in the
hope of bringing the same benefits she experienced to others. Julie graduated with a Masters degree in Oriental Medicine (MSTOM)
from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in Chicago. She also holds a BS in Plant Biology and Agronomy (applied plant
science) from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, and a MS in Agronomy (protein biochemistry and nutritional quality
in soybeans) from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Being
a life-long learner, Julie brings a range of skills and experience to her treatments. She has studied TCM (modern Chinese
Medicine), classical acupuncture methods, and several styles of Korean and Japanese acupuncture. Julie recognizes acupuncture
and East Asian medicine as an art that requires dedicated study and continual practice to master, but she believes in integrating
traditional approaches with modern medical theory in order to achieve optimal health. While she treats a wide range of patients
and conditions, Julie has a special interest in Women's health, endocrinology, pain elimination, oncology support, and complex,
chronic conditions, and she advocates a seasonal approach for prevention and longevity.

         Munoz Ortiz,  LMT, ABT

  A native
of Mexico, Mateo is a licensed massage therapist (LMT) specializing in Tui Na Chinese massage. He trained in massage therapy
at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine and then apprenticed with Dr. Leon Chen to learn in depth the specialized techniques
of Orthopedic Tui Na. In addition, Mateo is certified in other forms of Asian Body Therapy (ABT), including Thai Bodywork,
and has studied Chinese Medical Theory and advanced orthopedic techniques at the Universidad Estatal del Valle de Ecatapec

Mateo’s initial professional career as a hairdresser
led to his interested in massage therapy when he realized that many of his clients had issues with chronic pain. He is drawn
to Tui Na in particular because of its roots in Chinese medicine, working on both the physical level (muscles, tendons and
ligaments) and the energetic level (Qi or vital life force) to enhance the body’s innate healing powers. Mateo has been
in private practice since 2009. He specializes in pain elimination and orthopedics (both acute and chronic conditions) and
has advanced training in massage for cancer patients.
